DESCRIPTION

Diclofenac Spray contains the active substance diclofenac sodium, which belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). Diclofenac Spray is used for the local symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation following acute blunt trauma of small and medium-sized joints and surrounding structures.

Mechanism

Diclofenac - diclofenac is phenyl acetic acid derivative and non -steroidal anti -inflammatory drug Diclofenac inhibit cox -1 and cox-2 enzyme and prevents the synthesis of prostaglandins.
Methyl salicylate - it works by causing the skin to feel cool and warm this helps in reducing pain of joints, muscles and tendons
Menthol - it works by imparting the cooling effect by activating nociceptors and desensitize that receptors and reduces pain.
Linseed oil - flaxseed oil is the source of the polyunsaturated fatty acids. It contains alpha- linolenic acid that decreases the inflammation so therefore it is useful in the rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.

Contraindications
    Do not use Diclofenac Spray
  • If you are allergic to diclofenac sodium, or any of the other ingredients of Diclofenac Spray
  • If you have ever had an allergic reaction to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) or any other NSAID such as ibuprofen with difficulty in breathing, skin rash and runny nose
  • On open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin as well as on eczema or mucous membranes
  • In children and adolescents under 14 years of age
Side Effects
  • Discontinue use of Diclofenac Spray if any skin rash develops. Following the use of topical (applied to the skin) diclofenac preparations reactions at the site of application have been reported commonly. These include rashes, itching, reddening, burning sensations or scaling of the skin.
Warnings
  • If you have or have had stomach ulcers, liver or kidney problems, a tendency for bleeding or inflammatory bowel disease.
  • If you have previously suffered from bronchial asthma or allergies.
  • Do not use it in eyes, nose or mouth and on open wounds or infected skin areas. If you accidentally get some spray into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with clear water and inform your doctor.
  • Never swallow Diclofenac Spray.
  • Discontinue use of Diclofenac Spray if any skin rash develops.
How to use
  • Gently clean and dry the skin where you will apply the spray. Make sure the area is free from any cuts, wounds, or irritations, as the spray should only be applied to intact skin.
  • Shake the diclofenac spray bottle well before use. This ensures that the medication is evenly mixed.
  • Hold the bottle about 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm) away from the affected area.
  • Press the nozzle to spray a thin, even layer of the medication onto the skin. Avoid spraying too much in one spot; instead, cover the entire affected area evenly.
  • Use only the amount recommended by your healthcare provider or as indicated on the packaging.
  • Let the spray dry naturally on the skin. Do not rub or massage the area, as this could increase absorption beyond the intended amount.
